Phantom Nyx

The Night Goddess
Nyx was the goddess of the night, one of the ancient Protogenoi, the gods of the elementals). In the cosmogony of Hesiod she was born of Air and with Light and Day; the first components of the primeval universe. Nyx was a primeval goddess usually represented as simply the substance of night.
Created in between Feb and May 2014 in Monaco
Cast at Venturi Atre Bologna the 24k gold gilding was added in Sept 2017 by Boky Hackel.
The method of bronze casting used to create this unique type of lace surface requires two or three attempts in order to produce the desired results.
The four different pieces that make up this sculpture were recreated and cast three separate times before all the elements were perfectly formed and acceptable to the artist.
