10th Kömürcüoğlu International Stone Sculpture Colony in Denizli/Turkey
Call for entry for the 10th Kömürcüoğlu International Stone Sculpture Colony in Denizli/Turkey. The event will take place from 2 June - 3 July 2020.
Theme of the colony: Each year a different theme is determined for the colony. In the year 2020 the theme of the Stone Sculpture Colony is Visual and functional, contemporary sculptures that can be exhibited in public areas.”
10 artists will be selected to participate the colony, as national as international. Welcome cocktail for artists in the colony area. One-day workshop activities with children.
The medium of the sculpture will be “Marble” or “Travertine”. Material will be provided by the organizer. If required, the organization will set up the sculptures, provide the basement and also supply additional material.
Artists are required to make their travel health insurance.
Food and accommodation, such as travel expenses, will be provided by the organization. Accommodation, food and travel expenses for extra persons will be charged to the artist.
Awards
3000 U.S. dollar will be paid as a royalty fee to participants at the finalization of the work.
Application files will be determining for the selection.
Application
In order to participate, send the following documents:
- Application form (require to the email address below)
- CV (with photo) not more than one typed page, with the most important events attended, in English or Turkish,
- 5 images of the artist’s previous works;
- Sketches, photographs of the proposed artwork model showing different angles, block/s marble/travertine dimensions to be used,
- Mounting sketch;
- Eventual information on additional material
- Eventual short description of the proposed artwork in English or Turkish,
- Each participating artist is obliged to perform the proposed artwork in the application form.
- Colony Participant Declaration
- Colony Participant Specification signed by the artist
- The application portfolio, including all of the documents listed above must be sent to the email address info@nkvakfi.org before 12 pm on April 1, 2020. Incomplete applications cannot be considered.
It can be used different material in addition to marble or travertine; however the technical solution and the relative extra costs will be charged to the artist. The organization will provide electricity (220V), cable systems, pressure water and a compressor (working area visible at www.heykelkolonisi.com).
The works will be realized outdoor. Working hours from 08.00 to 18.00.
