Sculpture, the way of expression for living
The work of recent years is based on the human being, in his way of expressing himself, his movements, the way of presenting himself in his social environment that often leads to the confrontation between man and his environment where appears violence, repression and cruelty of man with his fellow men and that is repeated cyclically in history. Isolation, loneliness, lack of dialogue, misunderstanding are recurring themes within the work that runs through series that follow one another or intertwine over time.
In an experimental way, the work has been carried out mainly with recycled packaging cardboard, collected from the street, especially on the days that businesses can take their merchandise packaging to the street, normal cardboard, and some clay and occasionally with wood, to reinforce some structure or in the bases. The finishes have been mostly acrylic paint but different works have also been carried out with marble dust or Tetra Brick packaging.
The concept of Arte Povera is closely linked to the base of the work carried out by the use of very basic materials and tools and also the concept of Minimalism by trying to simplify the figure as much as possible and achieve a strong expression with minimal elements.
The combination of the concepts mentioned at the beginning that have been developed in the years before the Covid, with the real isolation that has occurred as a result of the pandemic, and the recent recovery of the relationship with technology and the industrial world make the artist as the protagonist of his action and at the same time as a subject of reflection on his relationships with his environment and in his work, mixing the world of trades and technological processes without forgetting the minimalist and Arte Povera concepts. He is not a being external to his work but ends up being the protagonist of it, experientially indivisible.
