International Sculpture Symposium - Spain

The Municipality of Soria announces the 2nd international Sculpture Symposium, with the theme “Literature and Poetry”. The symposium will be held from 1st to 12th August 2018, in Soria, Spain, and 5 artists will be invited to take part in the symposium.

Materials

• Marble: Calatorao - Markina
• Arenisca Soria
• Iron
• Stainless steel

Topic

Literature and poetry: (Antonio Machado, Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, Gerardo Diego, Juan Antonio Gaya Nuño)

• Participation is open to every sculptor/sculptresses of any age and nationality.
• Works can be done in any of the proposed materials that will be free provided.
• All the sculptures done during the symposium will be property of de Soria Council, and they will be installet  in the River Duero banks in Soria.

Honorarium

At the end of de Symposium the organization will pay each of the selected artists the quantity of 1.500 €.
Food and Accommodation, Travel expenses
Travel expenses /economy class plane tickets) accommodation and meals will be at the organization’s cost.

How to apply

Sculptor/sculptresses interested will have to present the following documents:
PRELIMINARY REGISTRATION (on-line) before June 10th 2018.

• Fill in the registration form apply for it to ricardoescultor@hotmail.com
• CV
• Short report of the project eith dimensions and materials in Word or Pdf format.
• Sketches, drawings, photos… from 4 different angles (the proposed sculptures will not be bigger than 4 meters)

Those selected participants will be informed before June 20th 2018
 

For the selected artists

• Participation form signed in. Apply for it to ricardoescultor@hotmail.com
• Project of the work to be done with a short report of its meaning  (photos, model, drawings… with dimensions and materials)
• Everything considered appropriate for a better understanding of the work.
• Photo of the author JPG format 300 dpi.
• The file will have to arrive  before July 10th 2018.
