Sculpture Competition

PURPOSE AND AIM OF THE COMPETITION

The city of Frankenberg/Sa. is planning the Sculpture Path, a project funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) with selected cultural events in the ERDF area that can be explored with the help of sculptures.

The aim of the Sculpture Trail project is to create an art trail that invites visitors to take a walk in the old town of Frankenberg and thus contributes to revitalising the city centre through art and culture. A circular path is planned, which is to be walked in about 60 minutes without barriers. Cultural themes are intended to commemorate historical events or personalities of the city, but also to be supplemented by completely new and free artistic works. The 20 works of art will receive a bronze plate with a small text. It briefly describes the historical peculiarity and the key data of the artistic work. CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION

The competition is an open competition for professional sculptors and visual artists. An artist can submit a design for several themes. Digital applications are not permitted. The competition works are to be submitted with the note "Sculpture Path, Theme of the Task and not Open". The competition works are selected by a jury. The submitted documents will be sent back after the exhibition of all competition entries on request and at your own expense.
