Gioielli in Fermento 2019 - Contemporary Jewellery Competition

The city of Castel San Giovanni (Piacenza) in collaboration with AGC Associazione Gioiello Contemporaneo, will host the 2019 Edition of the contemporary jewellery competition linked to the cultural and artistic context of Val Tidone Valley. Getting inspiration from a typical landscape of Emilia region, the curatorial project extends every year to an international dimension of its audience of passionates and experts in the field of research in jewellery.

Artistic research is a free expression, shared in the contemporary debate around ornaments as well. This goes with a clear condition: the pursuit of quality in experimental jewellery largely rewards with recognition and appreciation by the public.

In a blind tasting, different palates agree on the finest characteristics according to what they feel. The quality of the tasting dominates radically on the individual tastes and shows an objective acknowledgement. An excellent wine will register a number of decisive preferences, much larger and shared than the number of all single visions.

The theme to be addressed within Gioielli in Fermento 2019, draws inspiration from this further element of observation coming from the world of wine: the unquestionable role of the quality factor. Actually there are more and more opportunities for comparison, judgement and critique concerning the product of professional wine-makers: global competitions, highest pairing challenges, international events, tastings among enthusiasts, expert reports. Everywhere the tension to the best expression of the qualitative characteristics is crucial and goes to fulfill the final result.
