Meeting of international sculptors

The Government of the Province of Corrientes, through the Institute of Culture and in the person of the plastic artist organizer Daniel Sotelo, call for the 3rd meeting of international sculptors to be held within the framework of the IX Provincial Book Fair from July 12th to 21st 2019.

Selection

The meeting will involve 8 (eight) previously selected international sculptors artists, who will work on the production of marble works. The Jury, composed of three specialists, will examine the application forms for participation and production projects that meet the criteria established to be part of the meeting.
The selected artists will be informed until June 20, 2019. They must confirm, within five days of receiving the participation note, and comply with the regulations.

Materials and tools

Each selected artist will have at his/her disposal a marble block of 80 x 60 x 50 approximately. Other materials that will be paid by the artist may be added to the work.
Each sculptor selected must bring and use his/her own work tools.
The use of the machinery will be limited during the day, according to the talks, workshops and / or dissertations to be developed during the book fair.
The artists must perform their work during a period of 8 hours a day, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the 10 days of the event.
Each finished sculpture will be exhibited at the fairgrounds.
The official presentation of the event will take place on the premises of the 9th Provincial Book Fair to be held in the city of Corrientes, on July 12, 2019 at 7:00 p.m.

Food and Accommodation

The accommodation during the ten (10) days of the event (from July 12 to 21, 2019) and two (2) meals per day during said period will be covered by the organization, for the selected artists.
Artists who stay beyond that date and / or exceed the number of meals, will bear their own expenses

Transportation

The land transportation of the selected artists will be covered only within any point of the country (Argentina).

Certificates

Certificates will be delivered for participation in the meeting, issued by the Institute of Culture of the Province of Corrientes.

Fee
At the end of the meeting, it is planned to pay a prize of twenty thousand pesos ($ 20,000) for each sculptor artist for his/her participation and for the work completed in the event.

• The event will take place in any type of weather conditions.
• Each artist will be responsible for getting his/her life insurance and will sign an agreement with the organizers; where they will authorize to expose, catalog, photograph, publish, locate and promote the works of art resulting from the meeting.
• The sculptors recognize and accept these terms and conditions by sending the application form, and exempting the Organizing Committee from any liability in the event of damage or injury suffered.

Application

Artists interested in participating in this meeting must send the following documents (by email) until June 15, 2019:

• The application form and production project (it is required to send to the e-mail address: esculturacorrientes@gmail.com)
• Brief professional CV with personal information (place of birth, date of birth, address, professional training, and last five art symposiums).
• Production project (drawing of the composition from different perspectives, a diagram of the installation of the work and a diagram of the sculpture, a brief exhibition of the composition and title of the work if it had one).
• The artist agrees to do his/her work in the place and time set.
• The artist is committed to interacting and exchanging ideas with visitors while doing his/her work.
• The work must be stable and secure.
• 8 artists will be selected in order to create 8 sculptures during the meeting.
• Incomplete applications and projects will not be analyzed.
