Al Ma'mal New Residency Program
Every year we host a number of artists, researchers, academics and others to research, produce and exhibit new works that engage with our programs and the community. Each visiting artist is given the opportunity to propose and focus on a particular project whilst in residence, which may be influenced or inspired by the reality of daily life in the city, the country and the region.
Al Ma’mal Foundation for Contemporary Art (Al Ma’mal), is a non-profit organization based in a former tile factory inside the Old City of Jerusalem. With its firm belief that a healthy productive society must nurture the creative forces within it and provide its members with opportunities to participate in and be exposed to diverse forms of cultural knowledge, critical thinking and artistic currents, Al Ma’mal will be hosting a number of residencies in Jerusalem for artists, creatives, academics and writers. The residency is open to all areas of knowledge and any applicant who is able to contribute towards a constructive and successful residency is welcome to apply. The Residency is non-thematic as we encourage creative freedom for our guests; however residency applicants are encouraged to take into consideration the socio-political environment in Jerusalem, while developing existing or producing new works.
