Contemporary Art Award

The Associazione Culturale Blob ART held a competition to award artists with the aim of promoting Contemporary Art. The jury will select 80 works divided into five sections Painting, Graphic Design, Photography, Video, Sculpture and Installation, for the realization of an exhibition, the publication of the catalog, the allocation of cash prizes and three artist residencies. The exhibition of the finalists, the vote and the awarding of prizes will be held in Livorno at the “Museo Civico G. Fattori ex Granai di Villa Mimbelli" from June 22 to July 13, 2019.

Application fee: 50 euros for 1 work, and Euro 40 for each following work. Artists can nominate more works in the same section or in five different sections. Each work requires filling a new registration form. The registration fee is non-refundable.

The sections are:

Sculpture and Installation
In the sculpture and installation are permitted works with any material, raw or manipulated, with media or objects and expressive forms both traditional and innovative (sound art, kinetic installations, video and sound installations, etc.) The works may be or include interactive elements, such as mechanical or electrical movements, sound, lighting and video, used individually or complementary. Registration can be made through photos, video or audio files. The maximum space used for the works is the 4m  (length) x 3m (depth) x 34m (height)

Awards
Prizes will be as follows:
1 prize of EUR 6,000 (six thousand) for the section Painting
1 prize of EUR 6,000 (six thousand) for the section Photography
1 prize of EUR 4,000 (four thousand) for the section Graphics
1 prize of EUR 4,000 (four thousand) for the section Sculpture and Installation *
1 prize of EUR 4,000 (four thousand) for the section Video
* (The winning work will remain the property of the artist)
Special Prize Fattori Contemporaneo - awarded by the Comune di Livorno - personal exhibition at the Museo Civico Giovanni Fattori in Livorno *
Special Prize Art Tracker - Four artists will be selected from the Combat Prize finalists to be included in the calendar of the Lucca Art Fair with a curatorial project that will be exhibited during the event in 2019.*

As required by the law, a tax of 25% will be withheld from all prize money. The winning artworks of the Painting, Photography, and Graphic Arts categories will become property of the Associazione Culturale Blob ART. The winning artwork of the Fattori Contemporaneo Prize will become property of the Comune di Livorno. All the other artworks, including the winners of the Video Arts category, Sculpture and Installation category, and Special Prize Art Tracker will remain the property of the artists.

HOW TO APPLY:

Artists interested can sign up by April 13, 2019, using one of the following ways :

a) Online :The registration form is accessible at: http://www.premiocombat.it/register  . The form allows you to select the category and upload your artwork(s). Choose: Painting Category - Photography Category - Graphic Arts Category to upload IMAGES; Video Arts Category - Sculpture/Installation Category to upload IMAGES, AUDIO or VIDEO.

b) By ordinary mail: Fill the FORM in all its parts (available on the website or by request by mail or directly to the Cultural Blob ART - tel. (+39) 0586 881 165).
Attach a CD-ROM containing:

• A brief curriculum vitae, with personal training and previous exhibitions
• An image of the work in JPG or TIFF, 300 dpi, RGB, including: the caption of the work, name and surname of the artist, title, date, medium, dimensions (height x width x depth possible).
• As an alternative to the CD-ROM it is possible to send a photograph of the work (minimum size 10 x 15, 21 x 30 maximum) detailing on the back first and last name of the artist, title, date, medium, dimensions (height x width x any depth).

For registration by mail, the documentation must be sent in a sealed envelope (mail delivery charged to the participants) for Mail, Express courier or hand delivered to the following address:
