Awagami Artist–in–Residence (A.A.I.R) Japan

• Awagami Artist in Residence application form
• Portfolio and/or other materials that show previous work activities・Any format
• Letter of recommendation From an A.I.R organization, professional studio, accomplished professional (Gallery Director, Master Printer, Curator, etc...)

We are looking for:

• Number: 2 international artists
• Field: Art that incorporates washi paper as an integral component of the finished works (printmaking, sculpture, painting, photography, etc.)

Conditions for Invitation:

• Residency Period: November 20 to December 24, 2019
• Complete one (preferably, more) artworks during the residency
• Contribute one (or more) artworks created during residency to the Awagami Paper Museum (“Hall of Awa Japanese Handmade Paper”).
• Participate in local community outreach programs includinganartist lecture & school visit to engage local residentinteraction in art education.

Jury: The selection will be made by a committee led by the Director of Awagami Factory.Selection
