Beautiful!

Exhibition at Handwerksform Hannover:
5th June 2021 to 3rd July 2021

The riddle of beauty has occupied people for thousands of years. What is beautiful? Are there objective standards for beautiful or ugly? Is beauty only in the eye of the beholder, as Thucydides claims? Is physical beauty a question of convention? Or perhaps even fashion? Or is it all just a question of proportion? These are the questions we want to explore in the 2021 summer exhibition.
We invite applied artists, craftspeople and designers from the fields of clothing and accessories to join us in exploring the questions: Is beauty possible? Can handcrafted unique pieces make us more beautiful? And what does all this have to do with the quality of materials, design and professional craftsmanship?
As always, we are looking for interesting contemporary works of crafts, design and applied art. We are explicitly looking forward to applications with coats, dresses, trousers, jackets, hats, caps, shoes, gloves, scarves and shawls for men and women. But we also welcome submissions from the areas of bags and jewelry.
We find it exciting to look at the topic of sustainability and the high quality of the materials used, at clothing and accessories that are manufactured in harmony with nature and with the highest level of craftsmanship and are characterized by excellent design. And please bear in mind when selecting the works you would like to propose to us: it is a summer exhibition!
