KULT Bildhauer-Symposium Krumbach
The KULT e.V. organizes from 21.06. - 27.06.2021 in cooperation with the Central Swabian Local History Museum, the 2nd sculpture symposium Krumbach.
Participation
Interested artists are invited to apply. There is no regional restriction.
An independent jury will select 5 participants from the applications for the symposium.
Creation of the work of art
Artists are invited to realize a work of art in wood from 21st to 27th June. Works will be located in the Krumbach city garden. Artists will receive a fee of 500 euros for the work. There are also Travel costs and other expenses included. In addition to this fee, the organizer provides the Artists are provided with overnight accommodation and meals in the above-mentioned period.
Arrival is on June 20th, 2021. During the week you can work from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (with the Chainsaw). Saturday and Sunday only with electric saws and carving tools.
A finissage will take place on Sunday, June 27th.
Material for the work of art: wood
The material for the works of art (logs approx. 60 - 80 cm x 200 cm, other materials only after consultation) are provided by the organizer. Artists bring their own tools.
Installation of the work of art
The works of art realized during the symposium will be displayed on a public square in Krumbach for 4 years. After that time, the work becomes property of the organizer, unless the artist picked it up under his/her own cost.
The work of art is not insured against damage (e.g. through vandalism). The Artwork may not be removed before the 4-year period has elapsed without prior agreement with the organizer.
Liability
Liability for the works of art on the part of the organizer is excluded. The city of Krumbach assumes liability in the event of damage to third parties in public spaces. For the period of the symposium, the artist is insured through his/her private liability. The organizer does not close any insurance for the artist, the works of art and the damage to third parties.
Advertising
The artist agrees that images of the work of art can be used for advertising purposes for the sculptor symposium as well as for the KULT art path, for press releases, catalogs, flyers, in social networks as well as on the Internet.
Application
Submission deadline: Saturday, March 20th, 2021 (date of postmark or receipt of the mail).
The application must include:
Page 1: Drawing or photo of the proposed sculpture or model with dimensions,
Title of the sculpture and name of the artist (no larger than A4).
Page 2: One or two more views of the sculpture
Page 3: The completed and signed application form

Page 4: Brief CV
Pages 5 to 9: Photos of works created so far (please give your name), Material requirements and brief explanation of the proposed sculpture. Slides, image files on digital media (CD, USB stick) and catalogs are not permitted. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
