Parco Selvart 2022 - call for art work
Art inclines to listening and amazement, essential conditions for making peace with Nature. Walking in the natural wood, enjoying the benefits of breathing in its essences, savoring the amazement at the sight of the sculptures together with moments of thought or playfulness has a regenerating effect. The stress hormone cortisol is lowered and the immune system is strengthened. This combination has contributed to the success of visitors to Parco SelvArt, mostly families with children, school groups, Nordic walkers, gentle and conscious tourism in search of experiential moments dedicated to well-being and regeneration.
PARCO SELVART, ART EMOTIONS IN THE WOOD SelvArt art park is located in Mezzaselva di Roana (VI) along a path in the woods with free and open access that houses 27 works by as many artists. In just four years the park has become the destination of hundreds of visitors a day with guided tours and school groups, contributing to the rebirth of various local businesses. Born in 2016 on the initiative of the sculptor Marco Martalar, today it is the destination of thousands of visitors a year. Storm Vaia hit the park hard in 2018, destroying trees and works, and it took months of volunteer work to clear the trails. The park was reborn thanks to the NaturalArte association which reorganized the paths, symposia and artistic residences and launched collaboration projects with local and international organizations and associations.
The Association
We make known Deep Ecology through art installations (symposia, conferences, musical events and performances, site-specific art installations). We organize educational workshops to educate on environmental protection, on the themes of deep ecology and creativity techniques. Since 2016 we have been curating public art installations: "The Sense of Vaia", a solo exhibition by the artist Paolo Ceola at the Asiago “Museo Le Carceri”, which ended in February 2020; “Io Sono Natura" and “Leone Alato di Vaia" at the recent 77th Venice Film Festival. Actions carried out with the contribution and the patronage of the Veneto Region and the Veneto Regional Council, the Province of Vicenza, the City of Asiago, the Municipality of Roana, the Spettabile Reggenza dei Sette Comuni, the University of Padua, the museum network Musei Alto Vicentino, PEFC-Italy. The Association is also active in the editorial field. In 2019 it promoted the "NaturalArtBook" project, a monograph on Vaia and deep ecology.
The project
The Association announces an open call for the selection of one or more artists for the creation of a large work with waste materials from the forest in SelvArt to be completed in the course of spring 2022.

Subject
In the woods we leave an anthropocentric vision and we open ourselves to broader and more complex visions and dimensions. We know only a small part of the plant kingdom and even less of life on Earth. The Artist enters the wild dimension of Nature and his work prepares the visitor for an intimate dialogue and contemplation of what surrounds him and of which he is a part.
Call for participation and rules
1. The NaturalArte Association announces a call to select a large work to be placed within Parco Selvart. The work will be realised in spring 2022.
2 . The work will be made with material present in the forest (branches and uprooted trunks). Nails and screws can be used and technical and logistical support is provided.
3. The artists will come with their own work tools. Petrol and oil are made available by the Association. For those who will come to Selvart by plane there will be chainsaws made available on the spot.
4. The works must be completed and finished in a maximum of 10 days.
5. The proposed works must be unique pieces.
6. Costs of room and board are paid by the Association for the entire duration of the work. The Association is available to organize transportation from Schio (VI) train station to SelvArt park in Mezzaselva di Roana (VI).
7. The artist of the selected work will receive a net fee of 2,000.00 euros.
8. The realised works will remain the exclusive property of NaturalArte Association.
9. Two or more artists can join together to create a collective work.
10. Interested parties must send the REGISTRATION FORM to the call by December 23rd, 2021, complete with:

a. In a SINGLE PDF file max 5Mb a. Curriculum vitae with indicated date and place of birth, residence, profession, training, main solo and group exhibitions.
b. Representative photo of the artist in jpg format.
c. Color Photo of a completed and meaningful work. d. Graphic design of the work to be carried out and description of the project. In the case of a collective work, the project can be presented by the group of artists after completing and sending all the documents referred to in points a, b, c of this note for each individual artist.
11. 12. The Association declines all responsibility for any damage that may be caused to the artists in the execution of their work or to the works during their realization. 13. Adherence to this call implies consent to the processing of personal data. All data collected will be processed in accordance with the new European Regulation 679/2016 on "Privacy". 14. The owner of the processing of personal data is NaturalArte Association which guarantees maximum confidentiality and the right to know, cancel, correct, update, integrate and oppose the processing of the data.
