V_AIR Vimercate Art In Residence

The Vimercate Councilorship of Culture proposes the third edition of V_AIR Vimercate Art In Residence, an annual program of residencies for artists, oriented to the enhancement of contemporary art and the support of youth artistic production.
The concept on which the artists are invited to present their applications and work in the period of residence has the title "Transits: traces, maps, paths of contemporary nomadism".
 

The artist's residency will last for three weeks, from 6 to 24 May 2019 and will be selected up to a maximum of six artists, who will be assigned an atelier at the museum headquarters in which to create their own works.

The artist's atelier will be open to the public at scheduled times and will also become a meeting and listening place with the inhabitants, curators and art critics.
The period of residence will end with the inauguration of the group exhibition in which all the works will be exhibited from 25 May to 30 June 2019.

The hospitality of the artists is at the expense of the Municipality of Vimercate, which will offer each artist accommodation and a flat-rate reimbursement of € 1,000.00 for expenses of food and purchase of materials for artistic production.
In the path of creation and residence will have the opportunity to be assisted in the process by the appointed curator.
At the end of the residency, each chosen artist will donate the completed work, or a part thereof, to the Municipality of Vimercate, which will become part of the museum collections.
