Wood Sculpture Symposium in Denmark

The wood sculpture part of Hojer Art Jam is organized by the association: 'Hojer Art Jam’.

The symposium in Hoejer will be open from 16th to 23rd June 2018.

8-10 artists will be selected all over the world. The selection will be based on the proposal for the sculptures. Each participating artist will be paid an amount of DKK 500 upon arrival and € 550,- by departure time.  Furthermore each participating artist will receive travelling help: € 100,- for artists from Europe and € 200 for artists from outside of Europe.
The artists are obliged to be available for photographing at the sculptures and during events without payment. All the sculptures can be given away or sold.

2018 theme: WIND, SEA, EARTH & SKY.

Free board and lodging for the participating artists will be provided by the organizers. Accommodation will be reserved from the 16th to 24th of June 2018.
Extra people who accompany the artist will have to pay for the accommodation:
Adults: Price for room and board, DKK 2,000, -.
Children: Price for room and board, DKK 1.000, -.

Each sculptor will be provided with an oak log of approximately 180 cm x 60 cm Ø. Each participating artist must bring own tools including a power saw. Only artists coming from other countries but Europe will be supplied with a power saw. The electricity supply (220 volt) and shelter in case of rain will be provided by the organizers, adapters will be available.

The working time will be from 08.00 h - 18.00 h. The use of power tools will be permitted between 09.00 h - 12.00 h and 13.00 h - 17.00 h. The sculptures must be realized from the allocated piece of oak wood. It is allowed to use other materials, brought to the site of the sculptor him/herself.

• Application form with a recent passport photograpy
• A short biography
• A sketch from 3 sides in A4 size (210 x 297 mm) or photos of the proposed sculptur(es) as the selection will exclusively be made out from the proposal(s).
• A short description of the sculptures.

Applications without illustrations will not be accepted. Only send the proposal(s) you want to make.
