INTERNATIONAL SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM - NEPAL
Government of Nepal is going to celebrate Visit Nepal 2020.On this occasion; Galkot Art Foundation is organizing an International Sculpture Symposium -2020, from 17th of February to 4th of March at Galkot in Nepal. The material will be carved in different shapes from local sandstones. The stones are uneven shapes about one to five tons in size. Participants can choose the stone according to their proposal or suitable for their form and content out of some collection made by the organiser. If any special desire; concerning to add on the materials, artist should arrange themselves and must be informed to the organizers in advance.
The workplace is situated in the nice view about 1900 meter on the lap of Ghumte, the highest hill of the district and 114 km. far from naturally beautiful touristic city- Pokhara on the way. On the 15th of February, welcome reception will be held with the province ministers and meeting with the Journalist and other members. The entire artists can enjoy in Pokhara.
Following the next morning, will move to Galkot- the symposium venue which is near to the village, equipped with 220volt electricity; 4 inches and 7 inches grinders with ordinary disks will be arranged.With the Crane, chain pulley and the professional assistants will help during the Symposium. You are recommended to bring special tools as cutting disks etc. Finished works will be installed in the same garden and which will become a part of the Open Air Sculpture Garden/Museum.
Symposium participants will be accommodated in an individual tent camp at the workshop site. The participants should arrange their casualty insurance.
Independent Jury will be formed by the organiser; the decision of the jury will be final and which will be published in the www.aiesm.com. Whereas 5 from Nepal and 10 from other countries; in total 15 sculptors will be selected. Selected artist will be informed on 15th of December and official invitation sent them to participate in the symposium.
Honorarium
The grant, settled at 1500 $USD (Fifteen hundred US dollar after tax) which will be converted into Nepali Rupees, (the rate of previous day of Nepal Rastra Bank).Honorarium is awarded to each participant at the end of the Symposium. Economy class Air ticket will be refunded after submitting the receipt and then local transportation will be provided.
If any participants would like to stay more days after the symposium and travel to other places in Nepal, they can extend their time in personal expenses. Artists should inform their travel schedule to the organizer as possible. During the symposium period artist should be in the workshop site. One day break will be given in between working days and sightseeing.

17-February official opening ceremony at the site
4th of March- Closing ceremony
5th of March - Departure to Kathmandu from Galkot.
6th and 7th of March–All sculptors Depart from Kathmandu
HOW TO APPLY
Interested sculptors can apply by email that should send:
- The terms and conditions file dated and signed (require at info@aiesm.com )
- personal biography;
- images of 5 previous works,
- proposed work (maximum two projects) images should be in different views with description of the work, Title, tentative size, mounting for the sculpture.

Selected sculptors will bring maquette of the selected sculpture project. The maquette will be given to the organiser in the end of the symposium. If you have special requirement for more stone pieces you should inform earlier, organiser will try to arrange as possible.
