4th Réalmont Sculpture Symposium
The city of Réalmont, France, is organizing its fourth sculpture symposium. All artists can apply to participate in this Symposium from July 2 to 5, 2020

Place of the symposium: Place de la République de Réalmont (under the covers of the central square of the country house)
Finalization
The completed work must be faithful to the project presented (if project), or at least in the same spirit. Modifications may occur on the basis of a mutual agreement with the organizers (depending on the difficulties due to possible defects in the materials). Â
Benefit allowance
A service allowance in the amount of 500 euros will be paid by bank transfer upon presentation of an invoice at the end of the symposium. (Provide RIB and IBAN) Â
Travel allowance
The sculptor will be reimbursed for his transport costs, the shortest and most economical journey from his home base to Réalmont and back, on presentation of supporting documents and up to 40% up to a limit of € 300. Reimbursement will be made by bank transfer (provide RIB and IBAN) after the close of the event.
Service
The realization of the work: the creation (the artists are required to bring the tools necessary for their work)
Warning ! No electrical or thermal material will be authorized, work exclusively by hand.

Artists’ commitments
- The mandatory presence of artists for the full duration of the Symposium.
- The mandatory presence of artists at the opening on Sunday July 5, 2020 at 6 p.m.
- The realization by artists of an explanatory text and presentation of their work and artistic approach on paper in order to be able to present it to the public.
- The selected candidates agree to be photographed as well as their work and their work during the event, in order to appear on the media relating to the communication on the Symposium: promotion, communication, derivative products (publications, etc.), website…
- Each artist (warned in advance) will agree to meet the journalists, to exchange at certain times with schools or leisure centers.
- The organizers undertake to make the most of and highlight the artists and their works.
- The artist has all the rights to communicate on the work during the symposium (catalog, business cards, sculptures, flyers, etc.).
- Within the framework of Lang law on image rights, the artist authorizes to use and exploit the visuals of the works necessary for the communication of the exhibition, this before, during and after the operation.
- This right, granted without remuneration, has the sole purpose of promoting each of the artists, within the framework of the event called "Réalmont sculpture symposium"
- The planned communication tools are, press kits, posters, website, and journalists' report
- A photographic report will be used to edit the press kit and the website and other publications necessary to promote the event.
- The artists selected must imperatively be members (up to date of subscription 15 days before the event under penalty of cancellation of their selection) of the association Art Monumental, www.artmonumental.org .
- A deposit check of 100 € must be sent to the order of the treasury.

Realization of the work
- The creation of the work must be done outdoors, for four days only by hand.
- The artists work at their location under their own responsibility from 8h to 18h with a meridian break.

Accommodation/meals/equipment
The selected artist will be accommodated for the duration of his intervention within a maximum limit of 6 nights (one night before and one night at the end of the symposium). Accommodation will be homestay.
Accompanying persons will not be supported. € 50 will be charged per day and night for the sculptor's companions. This amount will be deducted from the sculptor's performance allowance (maximum of € 300 if the accompanying person is present for the entire duration of the symposium).
The common meals of the selected artists will be covered by the organizer Personal costs such as drinks, additional, in case, telephone, accompanying person ... etc. are the responsibility of the participants
The artist will travel, as far as possible, with his own equipment (tools, etc.) unless conditions are agreed with the organizers. It comes with its own personal protective equipment.

Insurance
Each artist must provide proof of multi-guarantee professional insurance to be attached to the registration dossier.

Exhibition
An exhibition hall will be made available to the artists selected to present finalized works in small formats as part of their promotion during the symposium.
The works produced will be presented to the public at the opening on Sunday July 5 at 6 p.m. To allow the smooth running and a harmonious presentation, each artist will have to clean their site by 5 p.m.
At the end of the symposium, the sculptures will be exhibited and put up for sale for a period of 1 year. The artists agree to leave their works in the municipality for a period of one year after signing a deposit agreement. The deadline of one year exceeded, the artists agree to come and recover their works without any compensation being due to them, otherwise the work becomes the property of the municipality without the possibility of appeal. In case of deterioration of the works during the exhibition year in the municipality, compensation in the amount of € 700 will be paid to the sculptor.

HOW TO APPLY:
In order to be able to select the 5 artists of the symposium as well as the two artists in reserve (last minute cancellation of one or more artists), please send us your original project (drawing or photos on several axes) at the town hall mairie-realmont@wanadoo.fr to the attention of Nadège Barthe-de la Osa with the contract as well as the registration form before April 20, 2020. You will be informed of your final selection at the end of May 2020.
