airWG

airWG has been organized by the AtelierWG community in Amsterdam since 2015.

We are now accepting submissions for the period 1 October to 31 December 2021.

Our light and spacious studio apartment is open to both international and national visual artists, performance artists, designers, researchers, writers and curators.

The AirWG offers a fantastic opportunity to be part of an exciting and innovative artist-led initiative in the heart of Amsterdam. Situated in a former hospital, currently housing a community of artists since the 80’s, airWG provides a space for experiment, production and presentation of artistic work. We encourage our residents to build a relation with the local community. We wish to host different perspectives and ideas in this context the coming years. Including recognition of diversity, an adequate critical and creative approach, connecting with contemporary artistic practice .

At the end of the residency period, the resident is invited to present the artistic result(s) in an exhibition or presentation at the puntWG. PuntWG is an interdisciplinary exhibition space situated in the same building as the residency.

Applications should include:

1. Visual documentation, with a maximum of ten examples of your recent artistic work. All images should be provided with title, year, materials and dimensions. Any film or audio work/documentation should be submitted via WeTransfer. Total video/audio show reels should be maximum 5 minutes in length.

2. CV - maximum two A4 pages

3. Motivation text - maximum one A4 page - Describe your current artistic practice and your specific interest in this residency.

4. Proposal with your artistic plans during the residency.
