Dualität

Every level of existence can be broken down into two opposing but inextricably interwoven aspects: without either part, the whole could not function. The Yin and the Yang, the Dark and the Light, the Old and the New, the Hard and the Soft... this project will showcase a survey of different expressions dealing with the tension of opposites.

We call upon local young artists to explore this theme with their work, using the following traditional media:

• Drawing
• Painting
• Sculpture

If your submission falls outside of these media, it will not be considered

We will select 1-2 works per successful artist.

The group exhibition will take place in Berlin's Museum Kesselhaus Herzberge from October 26th to December 7th 2018, with Vernissage and Finissage parties on those respective dates.

No fee for entry.

Please submit the following items before 1 Sept 2018 by email to: kesselhausopencall@gmail.com

• 1-4 images of your work (please label the JPGs as follows: 'FirstName_LastName_TitleofWork.jpg')
• Short written statement on how your work relates to the theme
• For each work: Title, Year, Material, Size, Price
• Your CV (as PDF or online link) or website
• Postal delivery will not be possible therefore please state that you will be able to deliver and collect your work in person, if successful.

Successful applicants will be required to deliver and collect their work in person to and from the museum, therefore we prefer local applications. All further information regarding exact dates for delivery and collection of work will be provided to successful applicants in due course, but will take place in the week immediately prior to and following the opening and closure of the exhibition.
