SCULPTURE FESTIVAL ON THE RIVER

Usine Utopik, Creation Contemporary Center, organizes the fourth edition of the Festival de Bords de Vire. The event will take place from 20th June to 30th September 2020.

The festival includes 6 works by 6 sculptors in the territory of Saint-lo from 1st to 19th June 2020.

Works will be placed on the ground, on the border of the path, but also on the shore (installation on the water).

Materials and responsabilities:
Artists must use natural materials (vegetables, minerals, ...) manufactured or recycled.
Artist must respect and promote environment with his/her work using sustainable materials.
The work must be exhibited at least for the whole festival.

Refund:
The artists will receive a reimbursement of 2500 ā‚¬ to cover the construction of the work and to ensure their presence at the event.
The cost of production of the artworks created in 2020, will be taken in charge by the ADN association. The cost is 3000 ā‚¬ for the totality of the artworks (global budget includes granite, wood and corten steel.)
The budget will be managed by the artist and validated by the organizer who have the right of inspection. Any other material proposal will have to be budgeted and presented in the project

The organisation take the charge of:

  • We take in charge the restoration and the accomodation of the artist (the accompanist will not be taken in charge) in the territory during the creation time and the day of the opening.
  • For those who work the stone, we can provide blue granite bloc of Vire de Saint Michel de Montjoie ( maximum 3T) ; also a lifting gear to manipulate it.
