11th International Wooden Sculptors’ Symposiumin Valle Aurina-Ahrntal/South Tyrol 2020

Organiser

The  Tourist  Association  Valle  Aurina/Ahrntal  is  organizing  the  event  in  cooperation  with  the  crib  and popular art museum „Maranatha“in Lutago/Luttach.

On the basis of good skills and  high  profile  sculptors  can  be  chosen  for  participating  without  an  application  by  the  organizing committee and the jury of experts directly.

Terms and conditions

• The participants must be sculptors.
• Conduct/procedure
• Arrival, check-in, welcoming and information
• Number of working days = 4 and a half days
• Official last act, evaluation by jury of experts
• common dinner
• Individual homeward journey on the day after the symposium
• Winner of the audience contest

Competition theme

• The theme of the competition is “Animals of the Alps” The sculptures will be placed on distinctive resting places and viewpoints along the Valle Aurina after the symposium. Appointments | tender | selection of the artists
• You have to give to the organizer the following documents for the registration:
• Registration form completely filled in and signed (see attachment)
• Sketch/photo of a model and a short description about the planned object
• a short curriculum vitae

Sculptures

Each  sculptor  will  receive  a  rough  bole  from  a  larch  (green  set)  with  max.  2,20m  length  and  0,60  m diameter as a whole bole or divided in half. The wood could be delivering also in pieces. The object has to be created at minimum by 50 % from the available wood. A second material could be used (purchase and costs are for the account to the sculptor). The sculpture has to be created on-site.
